Prime Minister Narendra Modi meets Japanese Defence Minister Shinjiro Koizumi to discuss India-Japan defence and security ties.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday received Japanese Defence Minister Shinjiro Koizumi and held discussions on strengthening defence and security cooperation between India and Japan.

Sharing details on social media, PM Modi said he was pleased to receive Koizumi and described their conversation as “excellent,” with a focus on deepening defence and security ties between the two countries.

Prime Minister Modi highlighted the importance of the India-Japan Special Strategic and Global Partnership, saying it remains an important anchor for peace, stability and prosperity in the Indo-Pacific region and beyond.

The meeting comes as India and Japan continue to expand cooperation across defence, security and strategic areas, reflecting the growing importance of their partnership in the Indo-Pacific.
