PM Modi, Putin Review India-Russia Strategic Partnership
Prime Minister Narendra Modi held wide-ranging discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday, reviewing key areas of the India-Russia Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership.
The two leaders took stock of progress in bilateral cooperation across several important sectors, including trade, energy, defence, space and people-to-people ties. These areas continue to remain central to the long-standing strategic relationship between India and Russia.
During the meeting, PM Modi and President Putin also exchanged views on major regional and global developments. Their discussions covered the ongoing conflicts in West Asia and the Black Sea region, with both sides assessing issues of mutual interest.
Prime Minister Modi reiterated India's consistent position that dialogue and diplomacy are the way forward to resolve conflicts. He also reaffirmed that India remains ready to contribute to and assist efforts aimed at promoting peace.
The talks underline the continued importance of the India-Russia partnership amid evolving geopolitical developments and growing cooperation across multiple strategic and economic sectors.
