Ravi Shankar Prasad on Congress and BJP: Party Split Row

 Ravi Shankar Prasad responded to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s allegation that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been involved in breaking political parties. Prasad rejected the allegation and referred to the history of political formations such as the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).

According to Ravi Shankar Prasad, several parties that emerged separately had their origins in splits or disagreements within the Congress ecosystem. He argued that Congress should examine its own political history before accusing the BJP of breaking parties or toppling governments.

Ravi Shankar Prasad Responds to Rahul Gandhi

Ravi Shankar Prasad said that Rahul Gandhi should recall the history of the Congress party while making allegations against the BJP. His comments came in response to Gandhi’s accusation that the BJP has been responsible for divisions within political parties.

Prasad cited the formation of the TMC and NCP while making his argument. He claimed that these parties emerged separately from Congress and said that internal political developments within Congress played a role in their formation.

The BJP MP also questioned Congress's criticism of the BJP over alleged attempts to divide political parties. His remarks have added another dimension to the ongoing political debate between the BJP and Congress.

BJP MP Cites TMC and NCP

During his response, Ravi Shankar Prasad referred specifically to the Trinamool Congress and the Nationalist Congress Party.

The TMC was founded by Mamata Banerjee after her separation from the Congress, while the NCP was founded by Sharad Pawar, P. A. Sangma and Tariq Anwar following their expulsion from Congress in 1999.
