SS Rajamouli has certainly had an influence on this generation of directors, as seen by the teaser for Ranbir Kapoor’s Shamshera. The teaser introduces viewers to a ‘lootera’ who is carrying out his father’s quest. In the film, Ranbir portrays both father and son.
Sanjay Dutt portrays the antagonist Shuddh Singh, who is hired by the British to track down the criminal who is terrorizing the local peasants. Vaani Kapoor appears to have a love story with Ranbir’s character in this film. Recently, Sanjay Dutt appeared in Akshay Kumar’s Samrat Prithviraj. In Yash’s KGF: Chapter 2, he plays the antagonist Adheera. Vaani was most recently seen in Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui.
While Rajamouli’s influence is palpable in Shamshera, one cannot help but recall Thugs of Hindostan, which bombed at the box office and was one of YRF’s worst flops, starring Aamir Khan, Katrina Kaif, and Amitabh Bachchan.
Shamshera is set around 1871, and the locations and size all appear to be extremely stunning. Because the filmmakers are releasing it in IMAX, it appears that they have ensured that the audience has a worthwhile experience.
Shamshera is Ranbir Kapoor’s first film since 2018’s Sanju. The actor has not starred in a film since Rajkumar Hirani’s last, although he will appear in Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra in September. Aside from Shamshera and Brahmastra, he has Animal by Sandeep Reddy Vanga and a Luv Ranjan project in the works.

Karan Malhotra, who previously directed Brothers and Agneepath, directed Shamshera. On July 22, the film will be released in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu. Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, the picture was often delayed. It was planned to be released in December 2019, but it was put back to March 2022, and then again.
