Donald Trump, President of the United States, has claimed that his administration played a decisive role in preventing major global conflicts, including tensions between India and Pakistan.
Speaking publicly, Trump said he had “settled eight wars,” adding that in several cases, countries had sent letters of appreciation and even nominations to the Nobel Committee.
Referring specifically to India-Pakistan tensions, Trump stated that the situation could have escalated into a major conflict between two nuclear-armed nations. He claimed that “11 aeroplanes were shot down” during the standoff and credited his intervention for de-escalation.
Trump further asserted that economic pressure, particularly the threat of tariffs, played a key role in resolving the crisis. According to him, he warned both sides that continued conflict would result in trade penalties, which helped bring the situation under control.
He also claimed that Pakistan’s leadership acknowledged his role, stating that millions of lives were potentially saved due to the intervention.
The remarks come amid ongoing global discussions on diplomacy, conflict resolution, and the use of economic tools such as tariffs in international relations.
