Trump Says Iran Accepts Nuclear Inspections, Hormuz Strait to Remain Open
US President Donald Trump has claimed that Iran has agreed to the "highest level" of nuclear inspections for the foreseeable future, describing the move as a major breakthrough in ongoing negotiations between Washington and Tehran.
In a post on Truth Social, Trump said Iran's acceptance of extensive monitoring measures would ensure what he called "Nuclear Honesty" and was a key condition for continuing diplomatic talks.

The US President also announced that he has agreed to allow the Hormuz Strait—a critical global energy shipping route—to remain open, ruling out further naval blockades for now. However, he noted that American naval assets would remain deployed in the region and could reinstate a blockade if necessary.
Trump further stated that funds released through US sanctions relief mechanisms would be held in escrow under American control and used solely for humanitarian purchases, including food and medical supplies sourced from the United States. He specifically mentioned corn, wheat and soybeans from American farmers as part of the approved exports.
Describing the situation in Iran as a humanitarian crisis, Trump said the assistance was necessary to address urgent needs while maintaining strict oversight of the funds.
The announcement comes amid ongoing efforts to ease tensions between the United States and Iran, with Trump indicating that negotiations are progressing positively.
"We have made significant progress, and talks are going well," Trump wrote, expressing optimism about the future direction of the discussions.
