Road to Amdavad 2030 Officially Begins

As the curtain falls on the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, a historic new chapter begins for India. The Commonwealth Sport Flag was officially handed over to the Indian delegation, marking the start of the journey towards the Centenary Commonwealth Games in Amdavad in 2030.

Representing India during the symbolic handover were two-time Olympic medallist Neeraj Chopra, Commonwealth Games Association (CGA) India President Dr. P. T. Usha, and Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi. The moment signified the passing of responsibility from Scotland to India, as the Commonwealth Games prepare to celebrate their 100th anniversary in 2030.

The handover ceremony celebrated not only the success of Glasgow 2026 but also the promise of a memorable future. With unforgettable performances, inspiring stories and lasting friendships created in Glasgow, the focus now shifts to India, where

Amdavad will welcome athletes from across the Commonwealth for the landmark centenary edition of the Games.

India has accepted the honour with gratitude, pride and a commitment to uphold the values of unity, excellence and friendship that define the Commonwealth Games.

With the baton officially passed, preparations for Amdavad 2030 are set to begin, ushering in a new era for Indian sport on the global stage.
