The All India Trinamool Congress (AITMC) on Saturday exuded strong confidence about retaining power in West Bengal, asserting that the mandate is firmly in favor of “mother, land, and people.”
Senior party leaders, including West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and AITMC National General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee, attended a crucial review meeting with counting agents to assess preparedness ahead of the upcoming vote counting process.
In a statement shared on social media, the party claimed that the people of West Bengal have once again reposed their faith in Mamata Banerjee’s leadership, paving the way for her to take oath as Chief Minister for a fourth consecutive term.
The AITMC also launched a sharp attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), alleging that the opposition has resorted to “non-democratic means” throughout the election process. The party warned that the BJP may make a “last attempt” to influence the outcome on counting day, May 4.
Leaders emphasized the need for vigilance, stating that party workers and counting agents must ensure that “not an inch of ground is conceded” during the counting process. The directive, attributed to the top leadership, underscores the high-stakes political atmosphere in the state.
The review meeting reportedly covered all operational aspects related to counting day, including booth-level coordination, legal preparedness, and monitoring mechanisms.
With political tensions running high, all eyes are now on May 4, when the results of the West Bengal Assembly elections will be declared.
