India women’s cricket team batter Jemimah Rodrigues has made it clear that the team is far from satisfied after securing their maiden ODI World Cup title last year. Instead of resting on their success, the squad is now driven by an even stronger ambition—to build a legacy of dominance on the global stage.
Speaking about the team’s mindset, Rodrigues emphasized that the historic triumph has only fueled their hunger for more silverware. “I think it’s a bit of a motivation now. Since we won one, we want to win two,” she said, reflecting the collective determination within the Indian camp.
The young batter also addressed the challenge of staying motivated after achieving such a significant milestone. According to her, complacency is not an option for this group of players. “After winning a World Cup you can get complacent but this team is even more hungrier to win it again and again and again. That’s the plan and that is the entire motive,” she added.
India’s rise in women’s cricket has been marked by a blend of experienced leaders and emerging talents, with Rodrigues playing a crucial role in the middle order. Her confidence mirrors the team’s evolving mindset—one that is focused not just on winning, but on sustaining success at the highest level.
With upcoming international tournaments on the horizon, India Women are now setting their sights on back-to-back World Cup triumphs, aiming to cement their place among the elite teams in world cricket.
