The Chase: Sundar’s Nerves of Steel
The Titans’ pursuit began cautiously after the early loss of captain Shubman Gill. Sai Sudharsan played the role of the anchor perfectly, scoring a composed 57 off 41 balls (5 fours, 1 six). However, the match swung back and forth as PBKS bowlers Arshdeep Singh (2/24) and Vijaykumar Vyshak (2/31) struck at regular intervals to leave the chase hanging in the balance.
With 11 runs needed off the final over, the pressure was immense. Washington Sundar, who had been striking the ball cleanly, remained ice-cold. He finished with an unbeaten 40 off 23 deliveries*, sealing the win by smashing a match-winning six over deep backward square leg to take GT to 167/6.

PBKS Innings: Shedge and Stoinis Lead the Recovery
Earlier in the evening, after being put in to bat, the Punjab Kings suffered a catastrophic top-order collapse. The GT pace attack, led by Mohammed Siraj (2/28) and Kagiso Rabada (2/22), reduced PBKS to a precarious 47/5.
The recovery was led by young sensation Suryansh Shedge, who played a fearless knock of 57 off just 29 balls, including five towering sixes. He found an able partner in Marcus Stoinis (40 off 31), and together they stitched a 79-run partnership to propel PBKS to a respectable 163/9.

Holder’s Masterclass with the Ball
Despite the PBKS fightback, Jason Holder was the standout performer of the night. His clinical spell of 4/24 dismantled the lower order and ensured the target remained within reach for the Titans. His variations in the death overs proved to be the difference-maker, earning him the Player of the Match award.
