Highlighting the significance of BRICS in the current global landscape, the Prime Minister stated that the bloc has become a key voice representing the aspirations and priorities of developing nations and the Global South.
Under India’s BRICS Chairmanship in 2026, PM Modi emphasized that the focus will remain on strengthening multilateralism, promoting sustainable development, enhancing economic resilience, and building a more inclusive and balanced global order.
India’s leadership comes at a time when emerging economies are seeking greater participation in global governance, financial reforms, trade cooperation, climate action, and technology-driven growth.
The BRICS grouping — comprising Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa along with newly expanded members — continues to play a growing role in shaping geopolitical and economic discussions worldwide.
