Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday shared details of his meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, highlighting discussions on strengthening the India-Russia Special & Privileged Strategic Partnership and key global developments.

In a post on social media, PM Modi said he was “pleased” to receive Lavrov and thanked him for providing an update on the progress across various facets of the long-standing bilateral partnership between India and Russia.
The leaders also exchanged views on several pressing regional and international issues, including the ongoing situation in Ukraine and developments in West Asia. PM Modi reiterated India’s consistent position in support of peaceful dialogue and diplomatic efforts aimed at resolving conflicts.

The India-Russia partnership continues to play a significant role in areas such as defence cooperation, energy security, trade, and strategic coordination on global platforms including BRICS and the United Nations.
