Abhishek Banerjee has raised serious concerns over the conduct of the recent elections in West Bengal, alleging large-scale irregularities and questioning the transparency of the electoral process.
In a detailed post on social media, Banerjee claimed that nearly 30 lakh genuine voters were allegedly disenfranchised from the electoral rolls. He also alleged partisan conduct by certain government agencies and the Election Commission of India, stating that institutions meant to function impartially appeared compromised.

Banerjee further pointed to issues during the counting process, including allegations related to the handling and movement of EVMs and mismatches in control units, which he said have raised doubts about whether the true mandate of the people was reflected.

Calling for greater transparency, he demanded the release of CCTV footage from counting centres and a thorough verification of VVPAT slips to address public concerns. He stressed that trust in democratic institutions is essential and warned that recent developments have shaken that confidence.
The TMC leader also expressed concern over reports of post-poll violence, alleging attacks on party offices, intimidation of workers, and threats against supporters. He said many party members have been forced to flee their homes due to safety concerns, emphasizing that such incidents are unacceptable in a democratic society.
