Anirudh Kavya reception set for November 21 in Chennai, CMO confirms
The Anirudh Kavya reception will take place in Chennai on November 21, Telangana's Chief Minister's Office confirmed after Kavya Maran's parents met Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy at his Jubilee Hills residence. The announcement confirmed the wedding plans of the music composer and the Sunrisers Hyderabad co-owner.
Sun Group chairman Kalanithi Maran and his wife Kavery Maran invited Reddy to their daughter's wedding reception. Photographs and video of the meeting were shared publicly alongside details of the event, according to reports.
The statement identified both Kavya Maran and Anirudh Ravichander and specified Chennai as the reception city. The couple and their families had yet to issue their own announcement giving the wedding's full details.
Reception confirmed after months of speculation
The Anirudh Kavya reception announcement follows prolonged speculation about the pair's relationship. A social media post in 2025 had claimed that they were dating and that their families were discussing marriage.
Anirudh rejected the marriage rumours at that time, asking people on social media to stop circulating them. Speculation nevertheless continued in the months that followed.
In June this year, his uncle, actor Y Gee Mahendra, said in an interview that a wedding was expected. He did not give a date or venue, while praising the prospective bride's ability to manage a major cricket team.
Reports have also carried speculation about Greece as a possible wedding destination. That remains unconfirmed, and the public confirmation described here concerns the November 21 reception in Chennai.
Anirudh's recent music work includes Nani's The Paradise and Rajinikanth's Jailer 2. His upcoming projects include Shah Rukh Khan's King, Rajinikanth's Dharman and Kamal Haasan's Indian 3.
