Apple’s Foldable iPhone Design Leaks Online: Here’s What to Expect

Apple is reportedly working on its first-ever foldable iPhone, which is expected to launch later this year. While the company has not officially confirmed any details, a fresh online leak has revealed the possible design and form factor of the upcoming foldable device.

According to a report by MacRumors, a leak shared on the Chinese microblogging platform Weibo provides new insights into Apple’s foldable iPhone design. As per the leaked information, the device is expected to feature a book-style folding mechanism, similar to Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold series.

The leak suggests that Apple may opt for an inward-folding display, allowing the phone to open into a tablet-like form factor. The device is also expected to include a traditional outer display for everyday use, making it practical for regular smartphone tasks while offering a larger screen when unfolded.

If this design turns out to be accurate, Apple’s foldable iPhone would directly compete with premium foldable smartphones currently available in the market.

Previous industry reports have indicated that Apple has been taking extra time to refine foldable display technology. The company is reportedly focusing on durability, hinge quality, and reducing screen creases—key concerns in foldable devices. Apple is also expected to optimise iOS specifically for foldable screens, introducing improved multitasking and seamless app continuity.

At present, details regarding specifications, pricing, and the exact launch timeline remain unclear. However, Apple’s entry into the foldable smartphone segment could significantly impact the premium foldable market if the leaks prove to be accurate.

Apple has not commented on these reports yet, and readers are advised to treat the information with caution until an official announcement is made.
