Asian Games 2026: Parveen Hooda Clinches Gold in Women’s 65kg Boxing Final
Indian boxer Parveen Hooda produced a gritty and determined performance to win the gold medal in the Women’s 65kg division at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya.
In a closely contested final at the Nishio Gymnasium, Parveen defeated Chinese Taipei’s Chen Nien-chin by a 3-2 split decision.

Chen entered the final with an impressive résumé that includes a Paris Olympics bronze medal and a World Championship title, but Parveen held her composure in the high-pressure contest to secure the Asian Games crown.

The victory marks a significant milestone in Indian women’s boxing. With her gold medal, Parveen becomes only the third Indian female boxer to win an Asian Games gold medal, following MC Mary Kom and Lovlina Borgohain.
