Bengal Industrialisation Investment has taken another significant step forward with the allocation of industrial land to 33 units at a programme held at the Milan Mela Prangan in Kolkata. According to figures presented at the event, the projects could involve proposed investments of more than ₹60,000 crore and are expected to generate over 62,000 employment opportunities through direct and indirect jobs.
The land allocation programme focused on expanding industrial activity in West Bengal and creating opportunities for new investments, employment and economic activity across different sectors.

The projects cover a range of sectors, including semiconductors, defence, solar power, electric vehicles, engineering, pharmaceuticals, steel, food processing, textiles and micro, small and medium enterprises.
Industrial land has been allocated across several industrial parks and locations in West Bengal. The areas mentioned in connection with the programme include Haringhata, Kharagpur, Panagarh, Raghunathpur, Falta, Uluberia, Kalyani, Naihati, Cooch Behar, Salt Lake and Ankurhati.
