The victory marked the Spaniard's ninth ATP Masters 1000 title and 29th career singles trophy. It also extended his remarkable winning streak to nine consecutive matches, as the 23-year-old continued his impressive late-season resurgence.
The triumph carried additional significance as Alcaraz avenged his heartbreaking five-set defeat to Shelton in the US Open quarter-finals in September. This time, the Spaniard held his nerve in the crucial moments to emerge victorious in straight sets.
Alcaraz Wins Tense First-Set Tie-Break
The championship encounter began with both players displaying exceptional serving ability and aggressive tennis. Shelton's powerful left-handed serve created considerable problems for Alcaraz, who had to demonstrate tremendous composure to withstand the American's early pressure.

Shelton created six break-point opportunities in the opening set but failed to convert any of them. Alcaraz repeatedly found answers with his serving and baseline play, ensuring that neither player could establish a decisive advantage.
After 65 minutes of closely contested tennis, the opening set went into a tie-break. Alcaraz maintained his composure during the decisive exchanges and capitalised on Shelton's forehand errors to win the tie-break 7-5, taking the set 7-6(5).
Shelton Takes the Lead Before Alcaraz Responds
The second set witnessed another intense battle, with Shelton finding an opportunity to shift the momentum.
The American broke Alcaraz's serve to move ahead 3-2 and consolidated the advantage with two aces in the following game to establish a 4-2 lead.
However, Alcaraz responded brilliantly. The Spaniard raised his intensity, produced two impressive cross-court winners and capitalised on Shelton's forehand mistakes to break back and level the score at 4-4.
With the match entering its decisive phase,
Alcaraz continued to put pressure on the American's service games. Leading 6-5, the Spaniard earned two match points while Shelton was serving to stay in the championship.

Revenge Against Shelton After US Open Heartbreak
The Paris final was particularly special for Alcaraz because of his previous encounter with Shelton at the US Open.
The American had defeated the Spaniard in an exhausting five-set quarter-final in September, ending Alcaraz's title defence in New York.
Their Paris meeting was their first encounter since that defeat, and Alcaraz made the most of the opportunity to settle the score.
With this victory, the Spaniard improved his head-to-head record against Shelton to 4-1.
Ninth Masters 1000 Title and Historic Achievement
The Paris Masters triumph represents another significant milestone in Alcaraz's outstanding career.
He became the first Spanish player since David Ferrer in 2012 to win the Paris Masters singles title. The victory also made him only the third player, alongside Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal, to win at least one ATP Masters 1000 title in five consecutive years since the series began in 1990.
The 23-year-old has now won nine Masters 1000 titles and 29 career tour-level singles trophies.
His maiden Paris Masters crown follows his ATP 500 triumphs in Tokyo and Vienna, marking his third tournament title since the US Open.
Alcaraz Turns Attention Towards ATP Finals
Following his consecutive triumphs in Vienna and Paris, Alcaraz will now turn his attention towards the season-ending ATP Finals in Turin, scheduled from November 15 to 22.
The Spaniard heads into the prestigious season-ending competition with tremendous confidence, having secured nine consecutive victories and demonstrated his ability to overcome challenging opponents.
For Alcaraz, the Paris Masters title is more than another addition to his trophy cabinet. It represents a statement of resilience, determination and championship mentality after overcoming injury setbacks and a disappointing US Open campaign.
With his maiden Paris crown secured, the Spanish superstar has once again underlined his status among the leading forces in men's tennis.
