Congress Leaders Stage Sit-In Outside PM Residence

Senior Congress leaders, led by Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, staged a sit-in protest outside the Prime Minister's residence in New Delhi on July 21, demanding the Prime Minister's resignation over alleged NEET irregularities and recent police action against protesting students.

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and several senior party leaders joined the demonstration, calling for accountability and action over the issues raised by student protesters. The protest drew significant political attention as the Opposition intensified its criticism of the government over the handling of the controversy.

Minister of State in the Prime Minister's Office, Jitendra Singh, met the protesting leaders at the demonstration site in an effort to hold discussions. However, the talks remained inconclusive, with no immediate resolution or agreement announced.

The Congress has maintained its demand for the Prime Minister's resignation, while reiterating its support for students seeking transparency and accountability regarding the alleged examination irregularities and the police response to recent demonstrations.
