‘Dhurandhar’ to re-release in theatres globally before ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ premiere.

Dhurandhar Returns to Theatres Worldwide Ahead of Sequel Release

Fans of the spy-action blockbuster Dhurandhar will soon have another chance to experience the film on the big screen before the release of its sequel. The makers have announced a global re-release of the hit film across around 500 screens worldwide.

The film will return to 250 theatres across India starting March 12, while another 250 screens overseas will begin screenings from March 13.

The re-release comes just days ahead of the launch of Dhurandhar: The Revenge, which is scheduled to hit theatres on March 19. The move will give audiences an opportunity to watch both parts of the franchise back-to-back on the big screen.

While re-releases of popular films occasionally take place in India, international re-releases of Hindi films remain relatively rare. In North America alone, Dhurandhar is expected to screen in nearly 185 theatres, reflecting the strong global following of the film.

Adding to the excitement, the sequel will feature special Wednesday premiere shows in the United States and Canada on March 18, a day before its worldwide release. Most of these screenings will take place in Premium Large Format (PLF) theatres, equipped with wall-to-wall screens, immersive sound technologies such as Dolby Atmos, and luxury seating.

Early reports indicate that many of these premiere screenings are already selling out, signalling strong anticipation for the sequel.

The recently released trailer of Dhurandhar: The Revenge has generated significant international buzz, with trade analysts expecting a strong global performance at the box office. With the first film returning to cinemas just days before the sequel, audiences will once again get to experience the scale, suspense and action that made Dhurandhar a major hit.

The sequel is written, directed and produced by Aditya Dhar, with Jyoti Deshpande and Lokesh Dhar producing under Jio Studios and B62 Studios. Dhurandhar: The Revenge will release worldwide on March 19, 2026, in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada.

Its release coincides with the festive period of Gudi Padwa and Ugadi, and comes just ahead of Eid, setting the stage for a major festive box-office season.
