Esha Singh Wins Silver in Women’s 25m Pistol at Asian Games

Indian shooter Esha Singh secured a silver medal in the women’s 25m pistol final at the 2026 Asian Games, producing a determined performance in a dramatic contest that required multiple shoot-offs.

The 21-year-old Olympian made a perfect start, recording 5 hits out of 5 in her opening series before adding four hits in the second to remain at the top after the first 10 shots.

As the elimination rounds intensified, Esha faced a close battle with North Korea’s Kim Hyon Suk for a place in the top two. After a three-series shoot-off, Esha prevailed to guarantee India at least a silver medal. Kim eventually took bronze with 34 hits.

The gold-medal battle against China’s Xiao Jiaruixuan went down to the wire. Both shooters finished level at 38 hits, with Xiao eventually edging the Indian shooter in the deciding shoot-off series.

The silver adds another Asian Games medal to Esha Singh’s growing international record.

At the Hangzhou Asian Games, she won individual silver medals in both the 10m air pistol and 25m pistol, while also contributing to India’s team medal tally.

Esha’s latest podium finish further strengthens India’s showing in shooting at the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, while underlining her position among Asia’s leading pistol shooters.
