UN Secretary-General António Guterres arrives in New Delhi for the 18th BRICS Summit

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres received a warm welcome in New Delhi as he arrived to attend the 18th BRICS Summit.

MEA Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal shared the update on social media, welcoming the UN Secretary-General to the summit. Guterres was received at the airport by Minister of State Sukanta Majumdar.

The visit highlights the shared commitment of BRICS partners to multilateralism and constructive dialogue, with a focus on advancing peace, development and international cooperation.

The participation of the UN Secretary-General at the BRICS Summit also underscores the importance of stronger engagement between BRICS countries and multilateral institutions on major global challenges.
