Harry Kane Surpasses Pele in World Cup Goals
Harry Kane surpassed Pele’s all-time World Cup goals record with a brace during England's 2–1 comeback victory over DR Congo in World Cup's Round of 32 clash.

Through his second-half brace at the Atlanta Stadium, the England captain went past the Brazilian to reach 13 career World Cup goals, rescuing the Three Lions from the brink of an embarassing tournament elimination.
With a 75th-minute header, Kane equalled Pele's mark of 12 World Cup goals and then went past the iconic late footballer with a booming shot in the 86th minute.
Kane now has 20 goals in major international tournaments for his country and extended his record as England’s leading scorer,l with 84 goals in 117 appearances.
He has been in hot form in the 2025-26 season, scoring 72 goals for club and country with FC Bayern Munich and England.
