Elena Rybakina is never one to get too far ahead of herself even if knocking on the door of a maiden Grand Slam final.
That steadfast inner confidence, while rarely outwardly projected, grew a little more on Wednesday when she sealed her first Wimbledon quarter-final over Ajla Tomljanovic.

Kazakhstan’s first player through to the last four at a Grand Slam.Rybakina became the first player from Kazakhstan – man or woman – to reach a semi-final at the Wimbledon or at any of the four Grand Slams.
The 2019 champion Simona Halep now stands between Rybakina and a first Grand Slam final.
After the match Elena Rybakina said ,“I’m just a very calm person. I’m not showing my emotions. It’s been always like this.”
“I’m full of emotions inside. I just know that I have a match tomorrow, so I’m just trying to focus, forget already what happened now and just keep preparing for the next match”,Rybakina said.
