India-Canada Relations Gain Fresh Momentum, Says Piyush Goyal

Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has described the current phase in India-Canada relations as a “defining moment,” emphasizing the growing enthusiasm among businesses, investors, and industry stakeholders for stronger bilateral engagement.

Speaking on the evolving partnership between the two countries, the minister highlighted the increasing momentum in trade, investment, innovation, and entrepreneurial collaboration. According to him, both India and Canada are witnessing renewed confidence among industries eager to explore new economic opportunities and long-term partnerships.

Piyush Goyal also underlined the remarkable participation of Indian startups, first-time exporters, and women entrepreneurs in the delegation, calling it an encouraging sign of India’s expanding global business footprint. He noted that the unprecedented response reflects rising optimism and confidence in the future potential of India-Canada economic relations.

The minister’s remarks come at a time when India continues to strengthen its position as a major global economic and innovation hub, while businesses across sectors seek deeper international collaboration. Industry observers believe the renewed engagement between India and Canada could open doors for greater cooperation in technology, trade, manufacturing, clean energy, education, and entrepreneurship.

The participation of emerging entrepreneurs and new exporters is also being viewed as a significant step toward boosting inclusive economic growth and expanding India’s global trade ecosystem.
