India Defeat Afghanistan by Seven Wickets in Rain-Shortened ODI as Shubman Gill Shines
India began the ODI series against Afghanistan with a commanding seven-wicket victory in a rain-shortened 25-over contest at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala.
Afghanistan posted 194 runs before being bowled out, largely thanks to an explosive innings from Rahmanullah Gurbaz, who smashed 102 runs off just 51 balls. Despite his remarkable century, the visitors struggled to build partnerships as India's bowlers kept chipping away with crucial wickets.
In response, India comfortably chased down the target in 22.5 overs, taking a 1-0 lead in the series. Captain Shubman Gill led from the front with a composed innings and was named Player of the Match for his batting performance and a spectacular low-diving catch in the field.
