India Defeat Pakistan by 19 Runs to Win Asian Games Cricket Gold
India added another golden chapter to their sporting history on Saturday, defeating arch-rivals Pakistan by 19 runs in a thrilling men’s cricket final at the Aichi Prefectural Korogi Sports Park to claim the Gold Medal at the 2026 Asian Games.

The victory also saw India successfully defend their T20 Asian Games crown after their gold-medal triumph at Hangzhou 2023.
India Post 211/6
After winning the toss and choosing to bat, captain Shreyas Iyer led India to an imposing total of 211/6 in 20 overs.
Opener Abhishek Sharma provided the attacking start with a blistering 61, while Tilak Varma played a crucial anchoring role, scoring a composed 51.
Pakistan's bowlers, including Arafat Minhas, who claimed 2/25, and Abrar Ahmed, who returned 1/29, managed to provide resistance. However, India's strong finish pushed the target beyond the 210-run mark.
Hasan Nawaz Keeps Pakistan in the Hunt
Pakistan required 212 runs for victory and remained in contention for much of the chase, largely because of a sensational innings from Hasan Nawaz.
Nawaz produced a remarkable 96, keeping Pakistan's hopes alive deep into the innings. India's spinners Axar Patel and Washington Sundar produced important breakthroughs as the required run rate continued to climb.
The dismissal of Abdul Samad in the 18th over further tilted the contest in India's favour.
Dube Seals India's Golden Finish
Pakistan needed 33 runs from the final over, leaving India under intense pressure.
Jasprit Bumrah and Shivam Dube maintained their composure during the decisive moments. Dube eventually delivered the final blow, dismissing Hasan Nawaz for 96 on the last ball to complete India's 19-run victory.
