India Switzerland Bilateral Cooperation Gets Fresh Momentum
India Switzerland bilateral cooperation received fresh momentum as Prime Minister Narendra Modi held wide-ranging discussions with Swiss President Guy Parmelin at Hyderabad House.
The two leaders reviewed the full spectrum of India-Switzerland relations and discussed ways to deepen cooperation across several key sectors, including trade and investment, innovation and artificial intelligence, military exchanges, defence production, nuclear energy, science and technology, and people-to-people ties.
Modi, Parmelin Review Bilateral Ties
During the discussions, Prime Minister Modi and President Parmelin assessed the progress made in bilateral relations and explored opportunities to expand cooperation in emerging and strategic sectors.
Both sides highlighted the positive momentum in economic engagement generated by the India-EFTA Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement, or TEPA.
They also reaffirmed their commitment to building an innovation-led partnership between India and Switzerland.

New Agreements on Transport and Mobility
Several important outcomes emerged from the talks, including new agreements covering transport, mobility and infrastructure.
The two countries also moved forward with cooperation on migration and mobility as well as initiatives involving young professionals.
Joint Research in Health, Energy and Space
India and Switzerland also agreed to strengthen joint research in areas such as health, clean energy and space.
These initiatives are expected to further expand scientific and technological collaboration between the two countries.
Focus on Peace and Global Institutional Reform
The two sides also reaffirmed their commitment to peace and diplomacy.
Prime Minister Modi and President Parmelin underscored the importance of reforming global institutions while continuing to strengthen cooperation on international issues.
