India to Host South Korea President Lee Jae Myung for High-Level State Visit

At the invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the President of the Republic of Korea, Lee Jae Myung, will undertake a State Visit to India from 19–21 April 2026. This will be President Lee’s first official visit to India and marks a significant milestone in India–Republic of Korea relations. He will be accompanied by First Lady Kim Hea Kyung and a high-level delegation comprising Ministers, senior officials, and leading business representatives. During the visit, President Lee Jae Myung will hold detailed discussions with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on strengthening the India–Republic of Korea Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Key focus areas include: Shipbuilding and maritime cooperation Trade and investment expansion Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital innovation Semiconductors and supply chain resilience Critical and emerging technologies People-to-people exchanges and cultural collaboration Regional and global geopolitical issues of mutual interest President Lee will hold official talks with the President of India Droupadi Murmu, who will also host a formal banquet in his honour. India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will call on President Lee during the visit, further strengthening diplomatic engagement between the two nations. India and the Republic of Korea share a deep-rooted partnership built on historical civilizational ties, democratic values, and commitment to the rule of law. This landmark visit underscores the shared vision of both countries to expand cooperation in traditional sectors while advancing collaboration in new and emerging technologies, reinforcing their growing strategic convergence in the Indo-Pacific region.
