India is witnessing contrasting weather patterns as heatwave conditions continue to affect several states, while heavy rainfall alerts have been issued for parts of southern and northeastern regions.
According to weather updates, heatwave conditions are prevailing across Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Vidarbha today. Residents in these regions are advised to avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight and stay hydrated amid rising temperatures.
Meanwhile, hot and humid weather conditions are expected over Konkan and Goa during daytime hours, adding to discomfort levels.
On the other hand, heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely over the Andaman and Nicobar Islands today. Similar rainfall activity is expected over Kerala, Mahe, South Interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal and several parts of Northeast India over the next two days.
Authorities have advised residents in rainfall-prone areas to remain alert and follow local weather advisories.
