IPL auction 2022: 74 Players Sold ;Ishan Kishan Most Expensive as Day 1

Mr. Hugh Edmeades, the IPL Auctioneer, had an unfortunate fall due to Postural Hypotension during the IPL Auction this afternoon.

Suresh Raina, Steve Smith, and Shakib Al Hasan were among the high-profile names who did not sell in Saturday’s IPL mega auction. These three names will reappear in the auction, and they may find bidders in the accelerated portion of the auction.

Deepak Hooda, an India all-rounder, was sold to Lucknow Super Giants for Rs 5.75 crore, while Harshal Patel was acquired by Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) for Rs 10.75 crore. KKR paid Rs 8 crore for Nitish Rana, while Lucknow Super Giants paid Rs 8.75 crore for West Indies all-rounder Jason Holder. Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan remained unsold as no franchise showed interest in him.

Manish Pandey, an India batter, was signed by Lucknow Super Giants for Rs 4.6 crore. Shimron Hetmyer, a left-handed batter from the Windies, was acquired by the Rajasthan Royals for Rs 8.5 crore. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) paid Rs 2 crore for India batter Robin Uthappa. Gujarat Titans have signed England opening batter Jason Roy for Rs 2 crore. David Miller, a Proteas player, did not sell in the auction because there were no takers; however, he may be picked up in the accelerated auction, which will take place later.

Devdutt Padikkal, India’s opening batter, was sold to Rajasthan Royals for Rs 7.75 crore, while Suresh Raina and Steve Smith went unsold in the auction. Dwayne Bravo, a West Indies all-rounder, was signed by Chennai Super Kings for Rs 4.4 crore. Earlier in the auction, Punjab Kings paid Rs 8.25 crore for India’s opening batter Shikhar Dhawan. Rajasthan Royals paid Rs 5 crore for spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) signed Australia Test captain Pat Cummins for Rs 7.25 crore.

Punjab Kings paid Rs 9.25 crore for Proteas pacer Kagiso Rabada. Trent Boult, a New Zealand pacer, was sold to the Rajasthan Royals for Rs 8 crore. KKR signed Shreyas Iyer for Rs 12.25 crore. Gujarat Titans have signed India pacer Mohammed Shami for Rs 6.25 crore.
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) agreed to sign South African cricketer Faf du Plessis for Rs 7 crore. Quinton de Kock was signed by Lucknow Super Giants for Rs 6.75 crore. David Warner, Australia’s opening batter, was signed by the Delhi Capitals for Rs 6.25 crore.

The medical team attended to him immediately after the incident & he is stable. Mr. Charu Sharma will continue with the Auction proceedings today.
