Jaishankar Calls on President Marcos, Boosts India-Philippines Ties

External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar called on Philippine President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. during his visit to the Philippines, reaffirming India's commitment to strengthening bilateral ties and supporting the country's ASEAN Chairship.

Sharing details of the meeting on social media, Dr. Jaishankar said he conveyed the greetings of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to President Marcos and reiterated India's support for a successful Philippine chairship of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN).

The External Affairs Minister highlighted that cooperation under the India-Philippines Strategic Partnership continues to expand across multiple sectors. He noted that both countries are implementing the India-

Philippines Plan of Action 2025–2029, aimed at deepening collaboration in areas including trade, defence, connectivity, maritime security, technology and people-to-people exchanges.

The meeting reflects the growing momentum in India-Philippines relations as both nations continue to enhance cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region and strengthen their strategic partnership.
