Lovlina produced a dominant performance in the final at Nishio Gymnasium, defeating China’s Bao Ziyi 5–0 to secure the top spot on the podium.
The victory marks a significant upgrade from Lovlina’s previous Asian Games appearance. After winning silver at the 2022 Asian Games, the Indian boxer has now changed the colour of her medal to gold in Aichi–Nagoya.
Lovlina’s triumph also adds another historic chapter to Indian women’s boxing at the Asian Games. She becomes only the second Indian woman to win an Asian Games boxing gold medal, following legendary boxer Mary Kom.
The gold further underlines Lovlina’s standing among India’s leading boxers and gives the Indian contingent another major medal at the Aichi–Nagoya Games.
