Former West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress (TMC) Supremo Mamata Banerjee appeared before the Calcutta High Court, seeking urgent judicial intervention over alleged incidents of post-poll violence in the state.
During the hearing, Mamata Banerjee urged the court to ensure the safety and protection of citizens, alleging that several people were facing attacks, intimidation, and threats in different parts of West Bengal. She also accused sections of the police administration of inaction and failing to respond effectively to complaints related to violence and political unrest.
The TMC chief emphasized the need for immediate steps to restore public confidence and maintain law and order. The matter has intensified political tensions in the state, with opposition parties and ruling leaders exchanging allegations over the handling of post-poll violence incidents.
The developments at the Calcutta High Court are being closely watched as the case carries significant political and administrative implications for West Bengal.
