Mohan Yadav Scooty Scheme: 7,500 Students Get Scooters

Mohan Yadav Scooty Scheme is aimed at encouraging academic excellence among students studying in government schools across Madhya Pradesh. Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said the state government has launched a programme to provide scooters to meritorious students, with more than 7,500 students being covered under the initiative this year. The scheme is intended to recognise students for their academic performance and support their journey towards higher education.

According to reports, the state-level programme is being held in Bhopal, with meritorious students from government higher secondary schools receiving assistance under the Mohan Yadav Scooty Scheme.

More than 7,500 eligible students are being covered for the 2025-26 academic session.

Mohan Yadav Scooty Scheme to Support Meritorious Students

Speaking about the initiative, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said the government has introduced the scooter distribution programme as part of its efforts to motivate students from government schools.

The scheme focuses on students who have demonstrated strong academic performance in Class 12. Officially reported eligibility criteria include students who secure at least 70% marks in their first attempt and stand first in their respective government school. Students from different academic streams are covered under the initiative.

The government has positioned the programme as both an incentive for academic achievement and a means of helping students travel to colleges and pursue further education.

Petrol and Electric Scooter Assistance

CM Mohan Yadav said students receiving the benefit can opt for assistance towards petrol-powered or electric scooters. According to his remarks, petrol-powered scooters cost approximately Rs 90,000, while students choosing electric vehicles can receive scooters valued at up to Rs 1.20 lakh.

The focus on mobility is intended to help students continue their education after completing Class 12.

Reports on the scheme have also highlighted its objective of making travel to colleges more convenient for meritorious students.

The government has previously said that more than 23,000 students have benefited from the scheme so far, with approximately Rs 246 crore spent on its implementation.
