Mothabari Incident Sparks Political Storm: TMC Blames BJP, Dares Amit Shah Ahead of Bengal Polls

By Editorial Team 👁 36
The political temperature in West Bengal has intensified following the Mothabari incident in Malda, with the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) launching a sharp attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Senior TMC leaders Kunal Ghosh and Chandrima Bhattacharya have alleged that the incident was a “fully orchestrated conspiracy” designed to defame the state and provide Union Home Minister Amit Shah with grounds to target Bengal politically. According to TMC’s claims, the situation in Mothabari was “meticulously engineered” with the intent to influence public perception ahead of the crucial Assembly elections. The party accused the BJP of attempting to destabilize law and order narratives in the state for electoral gains. In a direct challenge to the Union Home Minister, TMC leaders stated that he is free to stay in Bengal for as long as he wishes during the campaign period. However, they questioned whether he would “have the courage to remain even for a day” after the election results are declared. The remarks reflect growing tensions between the TMC and BJP as both parties intensify their campaigns across West Bengal. The ruling party expressed confidence that the people of Bengal will deliver a “spectacular defeat” to the BJP, emphasizing themes of regional pride, dignity, and self-governance. The BJP, meanwhile, has consistently accused the state government of failing to maintain law and order, especially in sensitive districts like Malda. The Mothabari incident has now become a major flashpoint in the ongoing political battle, with both sides trading allegations and counter-allegations. As the election draws closer, such confrontations are expected to further shape the political narrative in one of India’s most keenly watched state contests.
