Parliament Both Houses Adjourned Amid Opposition Protest

The Opposition also continued raising concerns over the alleged police action against students protesting in the national capital. The continued uproar prevented normal business from taking place, forcing the presiding officers to adjourn both Houses until noon.

Kiren Rijiju Says Government Is Ready for NEET Debate
Speaking in the Rajya Sabha, Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said the government is fully prepared to hold a discussion on the NEET issue in both Houses of Parliament.
However, Rijiju accused the Congress of placing conditions before agreeing to participate in the debate. According to him, such conditions indicate that the Opposition is delaying rather than facilitating a meaningful discussion.
The minister reiterated that the Centre remains committed to discussing the issue within the framework of parliamentary procedure and is prepared to allocate time for a comprehensive debate.
Mallikarjun Kharge Reiterates Opposition's Stand
Leader of Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge strongly responded to the government's remarks.
Kharge once again demanded the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, arguing that ministerial accountability is essential in view of the alleged examination irregularities.
The Congress president also criticised the Centre's handling of the controversy, maintaining that students and their families deserve clear answers and responsibility must be fixed.
Opposition Questions PM Modi's Announcement
Mallikarjun Kharge also reacted to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent announcement on setting up fast-track courts for paper leak cases.
He described the announcement as "instigative" and argued that while legal reforms are welcome, the government must first address the concerns surrounding the alleged paper leak and ensure accountability for those responsible.
The Prime Minister had announced that the government would establish fast-track courts to ensure speedy trials and strict punishment in examination paper leak cases.
NEET Issue Continues to Dominate Parliament
The alleged NEET-UG paper leak has emerged as one of the biggest political issues of the Monsoon Session.
Opposition parties continue to demand a detailed discussion on examination reforms, transparency and student welfare. They have also repeatedly sought the resignation of the Education Minister, alleging administrative failures in handling the controversy.
The Centre, on the other hand, has maintained that investigations are underway and has expressed its readiness to discuss the matter in Parliament while continuing legislative business.
Political Deadlock Shows No Sign of Easing
Despite the government's willingness to debate the issue, differences over procedural matters and political demands have prevented Parliament from functioning normally.
