Neymar Ruled Out of Brazil’s Crucial Haiti Clash

Brazil superstar Neymar will miss their upcoming FIFA World Cup Group C fixture against Haiti on June 20 in Philadelphia, team officials have confirmed.

The 34-year-old will remain on the sidelines to recover from a calf injury that left out of Brazil’s 1-1 draw against Morocco in their tournament opener.

In Neymar's absence, Brazil coach Carlo Ancelotti is expected to bank on winger Vinícius Júnior, who scored Brazil's lone goal against Morocco, to lead the frontline in a must-win game for the South American giants.

"We knew coming into the tournament that managing Neymar's recovery required absolute patience," Ancelotti stated during his pre-match press conference.

"He desperately wants to be on the pitch, but our medical staff has made it clear that rushing him out against Haiti presents too high a risk for his long-term availability in this tournament. We are taking it day by day."
