Ivory Coast striker Elye Wahi has been cleared to enter Canada for his team's 2026 FIFA World Cup group stage match against Germany in Toronto.

The 180-degree visa reversal comes just hours after the Ivorian Football Federation (FIF) initially announced the 23-year-old would be barred from traveling due to an ongoing French spot-fixing investigation.

"The Ivorian Football Federation (FIF) reports that Elye Wahi’s administrative situation has evolved favorably. The necessary authorisations for his entry into Canadian territory have now been obtained,” said a statement from the official X account of the Ivorian Football Federation on Thursday.

The late administrative breakthrough ensures the African nation will have its star forward available for Saturday's critical Group E showdown.
