Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Indian para sprinter Mohammed Basil Morssinganakath after his superb silver medal-winning performance in the Men's 100m T47 event at the Commonwealth Games 2026.

Taking to social media, the Prime Minister praised Basil's remarkable sprint, highlighting his determination and the achievement of recording his Season Best during the race.
"A superb Silver for Mohammed Basil Morssinganakath! What a sprint and display of determination! Congratulations to him for the success and also achieving his Season Best. His success reflects his hard work and focus. May he continue to scale new heights in the times to come," Prime Minister Modi posted.

Basil's impressive performance added another medal to India's successful para athletics campaign at Glasgow 2026. His silver medal, combined with Dilip Mahadu Gavit's gold in the same event, marked a historic day for Indian para athletics, showcasing the country's growing strength on the international stage.
