Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing a high-voltage political rally in West Bengal, launched a blistering attack on the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC), accusing it of relying solely on “abuses, threats, and lies” as its political strategy.
Modi alleged that TMC leaders have consistently targeted not only him but also constitutional institutions and even the Armed Forces with derogatory remarks. He further claimed that intimidation of voters has become a pattern in the state, while questioning the ruling party’s track record.
“Not a single TMC leader has given an account of their work or achievements over the past 15 years,” he asserted, intensifying the political pitch ahead of the elections.
Invoking the spirit of nationalism, Modi highlighted the historic significance of “Vande Mataram,” calling it the mantra that once led India to freedom. He urged the people to adopt it again—this time for rebuilding Bengal in the 21st century.
He laid out a symbolic and cultural framework for development:
“Sujalam Suphalam” as a guiding policy for prosperity
“Shasyashyamalam” as inspiration for employment generation
“Malayaja Sheetalam” as a pathway to happiness and well-being
The power of Durga as a guarantee of security and justice
Positioning himself as committed to the state’s future, Modi said that serving, securing, and saving Bengal from emerging challenges is both his “destiny and duty.”
“I will not back down from this responsibility,” he declared, striking an emotional chord with supporters.
Referring to his extensive campaigning across the state, Modi expressed confidence in a shift in public mood. He stated that based on what he has witnessed on the ground, he expects to return to Bengal after May 4 to attend the BJP’s swearing-in ceremony—signaling strong confidence in an electoral victory for the Bharatiya Janata Party.
The rally underscores the intensifying political battle in West Bengal, with both sides sharpening their rhetoric as the elections approach.
