Addressing a high-voltage political rally in Siliguri, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a sharp attack on the All India Trinamool Congress (TMC) government in West Bengal, accusing it of neglecting North Bengal while focusing on vote bank politics.
PM Modi alleged that the state government allocated nearly ₹6,000 crore for madrasas but failed to provide adequate funding for the overall development of North Bengal. He criticized the ruling dispensation for “appeasement politics” and claimed that essential infrastructure and welfare initiatives in the region have been ignored.
Highlighting recent challenges, the Prime Minister stated that while several parts of North Bengal were grappling with heavy rains and related hardships, the state leadership was “busy celebrating” in Kolkata. He emphasized that regions like Darjeeling, known for their globally renowned tea production, are facing neglect under the current administration.
The ruthless TMC Govt allocated around Rs 6000 crore for Madrasas.
However, for such a huge North Bengal region, the Bengal Govt didn’t allocate sufficient budget for development.
TMC is only busy appeasing its votebank.

Drawing comparisons with BJP-ruled Assam, Modi pointed out that significant improvements have been made there in tea garden areas, including better access to education, healthcare, employment, and land lease rights for tea garden workers. He asserted that similar reforms could be implemented in West Bengal if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) comes to power.
The Prime Minister also outlined BJP’s commitments for tea garden workers in Bengal, including land leases for families, permanent housing, access to tap water, electricity, and enhanced employment opportunities. He stressed that a future BJP government would prioritize income growth, education, and healthcare for workers and their families.
Criticizing TMC’s 15-year rule, Modi said that the people of Bengal have “only witnessed devastation” during this period. Addressing young voters, he remarked that many first-time voters were children when TMC came to power and now have the opportunity to shape the state’s future through their vote.
He concluded by urging citizens to evaluate the government’s performance and make an informed decision in the upcoming elections, asserting that TMC has “failed to deliver development” and has instead been involved in “wrongdoings.”
