PM Narendra Modi Urges Indians to Avoid Buying Gold for a Year, Cut Fuel Use Amid West Asia Crisis

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has urged citizens to adopt responsible economic habits amid rising global uncertainties and the ongoing crisis in West Asia. Addressing the nation, the Prime Minister appealed to people to avoid purchasing gold for a year, reduce fuel consumption, and help conserve India’s foreign exchange reserves.

Speaking on the need for collective responsibility during challenging global conditions, PM Modi said that every citizen must prioritize national interests and contribute through conscious economic decisions.

He emphasized that India should focus on saving foreign exchange wherever possible and reiterated his long-standing call for supporting locally manufactured products.

According to the Prime Minister, citizens, governments, institutions, and political parties must unite in strengthening the “buy local” movement to make India more self-reliant during global instability.

PM Modi stated:

“In this time of global crisis, we must accord the highest priority to our responsibilities, make certain resolutions, and fulfill them under any circumstances whatsoever.”
He further added that reducing unnecessary imports and promoting domestic products would strengthen the Indian economy during volatile international conditions.

The remarks come at a time when geopolitical tensions in West Asia are impacting global energy markets, fuel prices, and international trade flows.
