Kevin De Bruyne scored a brilliant winner against his former club Chelsea as Manchester City won their 12th successive Premier League match to move 13 points clear at the top.

De Bruyne has now scored five goals against Chelsea in the Premier League; the most by any former Blues player, who has represented them in the competition.

Manchester City dominated the first half and Chelsea were grateful to goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, who denied John Stones and De Bruyne before making the pick of his saves to deflect wide Jack Grealish’s shot before half-time.
Chelsea improved in the second half, with Romelu Lukaku forcing a fine save from Ederson before both Hakim Ziyech and Marcos Alonso blazed over.

But De Bruyne hit the decisive goal on 70 minutes, and in some style. He took Joao Cancelo’s pass and ran at the Chelsea defence before curling in his fifth career strike against his former team.

Manchester City have 56 points, while Chelsea stay second with 43 but with more matches played than all the teams below them.
After the match Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola said ,”We can’t forget the team we played. European champion. And on the touchline you realise how incredible they are. They wait for the transition to punish us. How good they defend, we create enough chances to win. We had the intention to win the game from minute one.”
