Arsenal beat Liverpool in five-goal thriller, while Ronaldo scores 700th club goal of career as Manchester United win.

A brace from Bukayo Saka sent Arsenal back to the top of the table with a 3-2 victory over Liverpool on a thrilling day of Premier League action that produced 15 goals and three comeback wins.

Gabriel Martinelli took only 58 seconds to put Arsenal ahead, before Darwin Nunez poked home the equaliser for his first Premier League goal since 6 August.
Saka restored Arsenal’s lead before half-time but Reds’ substitute Roberto Firmino made it 2-2 eight minutes after the break.
Back came Arsenal, and Saka slotted home from the penalty spot after Thiago had fouled Gabriel Jesus for only the Gunners’ second victory over Liverpool in 15 top-flight matches.
Mikel Arteta’s side are now on 24 points, one point and a place clear of Man City. It is the first time since 2016 they have been top after nine matches.
Liverpool drop to 10th on eight points.

Ronaldo hits goal milestone

Cristiano Ronaldo netted the 700th club goal of his extraordinary career as Manchester United came from behind to beat Everton 2-1 at Goodison Park.

Alex Iwobi’s early strike had been cancelled out by Antony’s equaliser before substitute Ronaldo was played in by Casemiro, and fired a low effort beyond Jordan Pickford. It was the 144th goal of his Man Utd career and 103rd in 233 Premier League appearances.
Man Utd’s fifth win in six matches takes them up to fifth spot on 15 points, five clear of Everton in 12th.

Back-to-back wins for West Ham

Earlier in the day, West Ham United produced a 3-1 comeback win over Fulham to earn a second consecutive league victory, taking them up to 13th.
Andreas Pereira’s fierce shot gave the Cottagers an early lead, but Jarrod Bowen levelled from the penalty spot for West Ham before the break.

Gianluca Scamacca and Michail Antonio struck in the second half to make it successive defeats for Fulham, who sit ninth, one point clear of West Ham on 11 points.

Eze helps Palace overcome Leeds

Eberechi Eze’s first goal of the season helped Crystal Palace secure a 2-1 comeback win over Leeds United and move the Eagles level on points with their opponents.
Pascal Struijk gave Leeds an early lead but Odsonne Edouard equalised with a header in the first half, before Eze drilled a low shot past Illan Meslier to complete the turnaround and lift Palace up to 15th, one place behind Leeds.
