Putin Arrives in India for 18th BRICS Summit

Russian President Vladimir Putin arrives in India for the 18th BRICS Summit.

India has warmly welcomed Russian President Vladimir Putin for the 18th BRICS Summit, marking another significant moment in the longstanding strategic partnership between India and Russia.

MEA Official Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal shared the update on social media, saying President Putin was received at the airport by Minister of State and Gonda MP K. V. Singh.

Jaiswal described the India-Russia relationship as one built on multifaceted and longstanding ties, anchored in the countries’ Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership.

Putin’s arrival for the BRICS Summit comes as India hosts leaders from the grouping, providing an important platform for discussions on global economic cooperation, strategic issues and strengthening partnerships among BRICS members.

The participation of the Russian President also highlights the continued importance of India-Russia relations within the broader BRICS framework.
