Rabindranath Tagore Jayanti: Bengal Governor RN Ravi Highlights Vision of ‘Sonar Bangla’

R. N. Ravi paid heartfelt tributes to Rabindranath Tagore on his Jayanti, describing him as the “eternal voice of Bharat’s civilizational spirit” and a guiding force for generations.

In a message shared on social media, the Governor highlighted Gurudev Tagore’s immense contribution to India’s cultural renaissance and intellectual awakening. He noted that Tagore inspired generations with ideals of national consciousness, human dignity, and freedom of thought.

“The nation pays humble tributes to Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore on his Jayanti. The eternal voice of Bharat’s civilizational spirit and a luminous force of cultural renaissance, Gurudev awakened generations to the ideals of national consciousness, human dignity and intellectual freedom,” Ravi stated.

Emphasizing the relevance of Tagore’s vision in contemporary India, the Governor expressed hope that his teachings would continue to inspire the youth in building a proud, enlightened, and self-confident society.

He further underlined the importance of striving towards a self-reliant Bengal that reflects the spirit of Sonar Bangla, contributing to the larger national goal of achieving a fully developed India by 2047.

Tagore, a Nobel laureate and one of India’s greatest literary figures, remains a towering symbol of cultural pride and philosophical depth, whose works continue to resonate across the world.
