Ram Gopal Yadav on BRICS Summit 2026 has raised questions over the outcome of the high-level meeting, arguing that the grouping could have played a more significant role in addressing major global conflicts. The Samajwadi Party MP said that, in his assessment, the summit did not produce anything particularly significant.

Speaking about the BRICS Summit 2026, Prof. Ram Gopal Yadav said the gathering could have had a greater impact if member countries had collectively attempted to address the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war or encouraged the relevant parties to find a way forward in the conflict involving Iran.

Commenting on the summit, Samajwadi Party MP Prof. Ram Gopal Yadav said that he did not see a major outcome emerging from the meeting.

According to the MP, the BRICS grouping could have demonstrated greater relevance by taking up pressing international conflicts that are having consequences far beyond the countries directly involved.

He specifically referred to the Russia-Ukraine war and the conflict involving Iran, arguing that diplomatic efforts by major international groupings could potentially contribute to reducing tensions.

SP MP Highlights Global Impact of Wars

Ram Gopal Yadav said that ongoing wars are not confined to the countries where conflicts are taking place. Their economic and geopolitical consequences can be felt across different parts of the world.

He pointed to the impact of conflicts on national economies and broader global economic conditions. According to his assessment, it is increasingly difficult for countries and regions to remain insulated from major international crises.

The MP's remarks came in the context of discussions surrounding the role of BRICS and its ability to respond to global challenges.

Russia-Ukraine War and BRICS

The Russia-Ukraine conflict has continued to influence international diplomacy, trade, energy markets and economic relations. The war has also become a major issue in discussions about global security and geopolitical alignments.

In his comments on the BRICS Summit 2026, Ram Gopal Yadav argued that the grouping could have made a stronger contribution if BRICS countries had collectively worked towards encouraging an end to the conflict.
