Ratna Debnath Says She Will Continue Working With Panihati Residents
BJP MLA Ratna Debnath on Monday said she would continue supporting residents of Panihati and working directly with the public while dealing with local issues.
Speaking in Panihati, West Bengal, Debnath said she did not consider it necessary to take every minor matter to the Chief Minister and believed some issues could be handled at the local level.
Debnath represents the Panihati Assembly constituency as a BJP legislator following the 2026 West Bengal Assembly election.
‘General Public Will Always Have My Support’
Debnath said:
“The general public will always have my support, and I will continue to work alongside the general public.”
She added that she was prepared to address smaller local matters herself rather than escalating them immediately to the Chief Minister.
Her remarks emphasised direct engagement with residents and local-level intervention.
Debnath Says Minor Issues Can Be Handled Locally
The Ratna Debnath Panihati statement comes amid a series of local and political issues in the constituency.
Recent reports have also highlighted controversy involving a local club in Panihati, where some members accused Debnath of attempting to take control of the premises. That allegation remains disputed and is separate from any final legal finding.
Debnath’s latest comments suggest she intends to continue dealing personally with constituency-level concerns.
Panihati MLA Has Raised Wider Issues With State Government
Debnath has also recently raised broader concerns involving alleged corruption in medical colleges and the progress of the RG Kar investigation.
She previously said she would approach Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari regarding those larger matters, while questioning the progress of the CBI investigation into her daughter’s case.
That differs from her latest remarks, in which she described some local matters as too minor to require intervention from the Chief Minister.
Focus Remains on Local Public Support
Debnath said her priority would remain working with residents and addressing their concerns directly.
The Ratna Debnath Panihati statement therefore reflects her position that routine constituency-level matters should, where possible, be handled locally rather than automatically escalated to the state leadership.
