Reliance and Rolls-Royce Announce AMCA Engine Partnership

Reliance Industries Limited and Rolls-Royce have announced a strategic intent to partner on the design, development, manufacturing and delivery of a sovereign indigenous combat engine for India’s Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) programme.

The proposed partnership aims to combine the capabilities of both companies to support the development of a domestically produced power and propulsion solution for India’s next-generation fighter aircraft programme.

As part of the partnership, Reliance and Rolls-Royce will also explore the formation of a dedicated Aerospace Gas Turbine Complex in India.

The proposed complex is envisioned as a centre of excellence for power and propulsion technology, with a focus on strengthening India’s aerospace manufacturing and engineering capabilities.

The initiative could represent a significant step towards enhancing indigenous defence manufacturing and developing advanced aerospace technologies within the country.

The AMCA is India’s next-generation stealth fighter aircraft programme, intended to strengthen the capabilities of the Indian Air Force while advancing the country’s pursuit of greater self-reliance in defence technology and manufacturing.
